Raspberry, Banana & Chia Smoothie

Who doesn’t love a great smoothie? They don’t have to have a million ingredients and they don’t have to be difficult to throw together. I’m here to tell you providing health snacks for your family can be easy, inexpensive and delicious. The key is to stock up on some delicious ingredients when they’re in season and on sale. In the summer I buy fruit when it’s in season and freeze it for the winter. I also buy things like chia seeds, flaxseed meal, wheat germ, agave and coconut water in bulk when it’s on sale. This allows me to make nutritious smoothies for my family all year long without breaking the bank. Today I have a yummy smoothie recipe for you. I like my smoothies to have limited ingredients, usually 6 or less. This allows all the flavors to really shine. Today’s blend is raspberry and banana. I added greens, chia seeds, flaxseed and wheat germ for added nutrition. Sweetened it up with honey and brought it all together with coconut water. You’re gonna love this treat anytime of day!
