Morris Meat Packing recalled the pork after an anonymous tip revealed they were not inspected. Approximately 515,000 pounds of raw pork products are being recalled because they were not inspected properly.
An anonymous tip revealed that Morris Meat Packing was producing products without the benefit of federal inspection and outside inspection hours, according to a press release from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service. The products were produced on Saturdays from November 25, 2017 to November 9, 2019 and were shipped to various locations throughout Illinois, according to the FSIS. The affected products’ packaging bears the establishment number “EST. 18267” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

“FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers,” the release states. “Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.” There have been no reports of any illnesses caused by the pork, but you should contact a doctor immediately if you are concerned about infection.
