Aldi launches Ben & Jerry’s Cookie Dough ice cream dupe for almost half the price

Aldi is well known for its budget dupes of everything from food favourites and premium beauty must-haves, and its latest copycat products have arrived just in time for the summer. Aldi has launched its new Gianni’s Mini Cups, inspired by Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and the brand’s most popular flavours. The new summer treat is almost half the price of the well loved tubs.

Perfectly timed for the scorching heatwave that the UK is experiencing this week, Aldi has revealed the two new products in its summer seasonal range.

The Gianni’s Mini Cups cost just £2.49 for a pack of four, and are inspired by the Ben & Jerry’s ice cream tubs that customers will be familiar with.

The new mini ice cream tubs are available to buy in four delicious flavours, including the iconic Cookie Dough.

Customers can also pick up the Chocolate Brownie, Chewy Caramel and Strawberry Cheesecake flavours in store.

The new ice creams launched on Monday as Aldi gets shoppers ready for summer, and will be a welcome treat as Britons remain in lockdown.

The mini cup sizes are ideal for an on-the-go treat now that the public are allowed to take more walks and sit and sunbathe while social distancing.

The products will be easy to spot in stores too, with cheekily similar packaging to the original Ben & Jerry’s ice creams.

The branded version is £4.20 for a pack of four, almost double the price of the new Aldi range.

But for those who prefer a slightly more classic dessert, the budget supermarket has also copied another foodie favourite.

Taking inspiration from ice cream connoisseur Häagen-Daz, Aldi has revealed its new Specially Selected Deliciously Creamy Ice Cream Mini Cups.

The bite-sized puddings are also £2.49 for a pack of four, compared to the £4.20 mini cups by the premium brand.

Aldi’s budget version is also available in four delicious flavours to please fans of the indulgent ice cream.

The new treats are available in Vanilla, Belgian Chocolate, Blackcurrant & Raspberry Ripple, and Salted Caramel Chocolate Brownie flavours.

The delicious chocolate brownie cup features chocolate chunks to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Shoppers can pick up the mini cups, which are made with 100 percent British double cream, in store this week.

Aldi has become well known for its impressive cheaper versions of branded items in recent years.

The store releases its Specialbuys every week, a selection of limited edition products across all types of categories, from household to garden and beauty products.

Aldi is also the UK’s lowest priced supermarket according to research by industry body Which?

The latest study by the watchdog showed that Aldi is 19 percent cheaper, on average, than the Big Four supermarkets.

It tracked the price of more than a hundred items at the UK’s eight biggest supermarkets throughout March 2020.
