The tomato-based cocktail can be adapted and changed in hundreds of ways.

Some changes include adding a heavy splash of hot sauce to a tipple of Guinness on top.

Bloody Mary recipe


  • 1 lemon wedge
  • 1 lime wedge
  • 2oz Vodka
  • 4oz Tomato juice
  • 2 dashes Tabasco sauce
  • 2 tsp Prepared horseradish
  • 2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pinch Celery salt
  • 1 pinch Ground black pepper
  • 1 pinch smoked paprika
  • Garnish: Lime wedge
  • Garnish: Green olives
  • Garnish: Parsley sprig
  • Garnish: Celery stalk.


Begin by pouring some celery salt onto a small plate.

Next, you should rub the juicy side of the lemon or lime wedge along the lip of your chosen glass.

Non-alcoholic Bloody Mary

A non-alcoholic Bloody Mary is called a Virgin Mary.

If you cannot drink it is a great alternative to a Bloody Mary.


  • 3 ounces tomato juice
  • 1/2 ounce lemon juice
  • Dash Worcestershire sauce
  • Celery salt
  • Ground pepper (freshly ground)
  • 2 dashes hot sauce (Tabasco or Cholula)
  • Garnish: Celery stalk.


Gather your Virgin Mary ingredients and put ice into your chosen cocktail glass.

You should then build the liquid ingredients into a glass over ice cubes before mixing it well.
