DoubleTree Just Shared Its Famous Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe So You Can Make Them at Home

DoubleTree Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

With so many restaurants, businesses, and vacation spots closed down right now, it’s been a pretty rough time for people who crave location-specific foods. Luckily, a variety of brands are sharing their once-secret recipes (Disney shared its renown churro recipe and a Dole Whip recipe, McDonald’s revealed how to make its Sausage & Egg McMuffin) with the public to help fans navigate quarantine.

For the latest such example, we turn to Hilton hotel brand DoubleTree, which has shared the “official bake-at-home recipe” for their crave-worthy chocolate chip cookies.

“We know this is an anxious time for everyone,” Shawn McAteer, senior vice president and global head, DoubleTree by Hilton, said in the press release revealing the recipe. “A warm chocolate chip cookie can’t solve everything, but it can bring a moment of comfort and happiness.”

Though fake recipes have circulated for some time, the real-deal recipe (which makes 26 cookies) is about as close as you can get to checking into a DoubleTree and getting one for yourself right now.

At first glance, this is pretty much your standard chocolate chip cookie recipe, with a few elevated twists. In addition to ingredients like butter, sugar, eggs, flour, and (of course) chocolate chips, DoubleTree’s take on the cookie utilizes chopped walnuts, cinnamon, and just a tiny squeeze of lemon to stand out from the crowd.

You’ll find detailed baking instructions in the press release, and DoubleTree also put together a handy video to walk you through the entire process.

So what’s the big deal about DoubleTree’s cookies? According to the brand, more than 30 million are eaten every year. They’re so popular that you can even order a tin of them online, and as the first food to be baked in space, they’re literally out of this world.

While you may think it’s a bad move to give away a trade secret like this one, it’s actually a pretty smart way to engage with people trapped at home. Much like McDonald’s and Disney before them, Doubletree knows that people aren’t really going to stop going to their hotels once this is over just because they learned how to make their chocolate chip cookies. And baked goods always taste best (in my experience, at least) when someone else makes them for you anyway.

So while hotels across the country sit empty, at least treat yourself to some of their perks via this newly-unveiled chocolate chip cookie recipe. Maybe that first bite will help you feel like you’re on vacation again, if only for a moment.
