McDonald’s often has money off deals available at its restaurants, exclusive for members of its app. But what about other fast-food chains? Personal finance experts Ocean Finance have shared how you can get money off menu items at some of your favourite restaurants.

Nando’s

If you’re visiting Nando’s with one other friend, Ocean Finance recommended opting for larger portions rather than regular as you will save more money.

If both people are ordering meals with fries, switch to the larger version as this has 20 percent more fries than two regular portions.

Butterfly chicken is a popular choice at Nando’s, but the experts advised opting for half a chicken instead as it’s 50p cheaper and has more chicken on the bone.

Nando’s butterfly chicken costs £8.25, while half a chicken costs £7.75.

Another tip to save money at Nando’s is to make your own PERinaise sauce.

If your local Nando’s only has plain mayonnaise, add PERi salt to it and save 60p per pot.

Many couples who go to Nando’s order half a chicken each and two regular sides, but Ocean Finance said a full platter, which is a whole chicken with two large or four regular fries, costs less for the same amount of food.

Two individual meals costs £23.50, whereas a full platter is worth £21.95.

Ocean Finance also reminded Britons that Nando’s offer a 20 percent discount to all police, fore service, ambulance service, and NHS staff.

All you need to do is show your photocard ID before ordering.

McDonald’s

Personal finance experts recommended switching a £3.19 McChicken sandwich for a Saver Menu 99p Mayo Chicken.

The items are exactly the same ingredients but with a slightly smaller chicken portion in the Mayo Chicken.

Another money saving hack is to make your own Big Mac for half the usual price.

Order a Double Cheeseburger and swap the existing sauce for Big Mac sauce and shredded lettuce.

If staff won’t give you the Big Mac sauce for free, try mustard or mayonnaise.

Additionally, for a half price Big Mac, as well as money off other items, check your receipt from your last visit.

On the receipt you should see an option to fill in a survey online.

Once completed, you will receive a discount on your next order, including 50 percent off a Big Mac.

Burger King

Ocean Finance shared one of Burger King’s secrets: there is a hidden menu that not many customers know about.

The menu has multiple specials, including the Quad Stacker, which contains four beef patties, four slices of cheese, bacon, and a special sauce.

You can also order a box of half onion rings and half fries.

Another money saving tip is to replicate the £3.99 Double Bacon Cheeseburger for £2.47.

Order a plain double cheeseburger off the King Saver menu, which costs only £1.49, and add two sides of bacon for 98p.
