Rachel Riley’s lithe figure is a result of her love of exercise and a healthy diet, and the TV star has been open about both these things in the past. So, how does she stay in shape?

Rachel Riley’s diet

Rachel opened up on her diet, revealing she eats a healthy diet, mostly to avoid symptoms of an allergy.

She avoids eggs and dairy, and also gluten, making this diet quite different from the norm.

For breakfast, Rachel likes to eat coconut yoghurt and gluten-free cereal.

She told The Mail in 2015: “I’m on a gluten-free diet and avoid dairy.”

Even more recently Rachel has embraced a totally vegan diet.

She posts her vegan meals on her Instagram account often, including in 2019 when she showed off a vegan burger from Mooshies.

She wrote: “If it doesn’t work out with the Russian I’m going to marry the man that made me this burger. @mooshieslondon hands down won @vegannightsldn last week. Well played Mooshies, thanks Vegan Nights London, first Thursday of every month, I’m moving in.”

She went vegan after pledging to do Veganuary, a popular time of year in January when people try the diet.

Speaking in May this year Rachel told the Belfast Telegraph: “Diet’s huge for me. For a large part of my life, I’ve had intolerances and been sick with food.”

Rachel Riley’s exercise

Rachel is reportedly a huge fan of cycling and has been an ambassador for cycling programme Breeze in the past.

She said: “Cycling is quicker, healthy and free. Last year I bought a road bike.

“I was always a bit nervous about riding one, but it’s different when you get one that’s the right size for you. It only took me about five minutes to get used to it. Now I love it.”

Speaking to Woman Magazine, she went on: “I’m so glad I rediscovered cycling. I used to do it when I was a kid, then stopped, and it was only on The Gadget Show (which Rachel used to co-present) that I realised how fun it was and took it up again.”

Rachel is intolerant to wheat, lactose, gluten and eggs, and works with a nutritionist.

She told the publication: “‘I’m naturally slim, so I don’t have to watch what I eat from a weight loss point of view.”

Rachel is not the only TV star to have lost weight in recent times.

Nadia Sawalha’s weight loss has impressed many. 

The Loose Woman star has cut out sugar and alcohol from her diet.

The presenter makes homemade meals with little carbs, showing them off in Youtube videos. 

Talking to Instagram, the 56-year-old shared her experience of filming the fitness film.

She said: “So in 2010 I did a fitness DVD ‘Fat to Fab’. I did it with a great company, Universal Pictures, who did not force me to go to a fat camp, who did not force me to take slimming pills, like some others do.

“I did it the right way, I went on a diet.”
