Jonathan Ross will appear tonight on The Masked Singer: The Final, airing at 7pm on ITV, alongside fellow celebrities Rita Ora, Davina McCall, and Mo Gilligan. Viewers will be reminded of the 61-year-old’s recent weight loss journey.
Jonathan Ross has opened up about how, like many, he gained a few pounds over lockdown.
But before returning to British TV screens, the comedian decdided to lose weight.
He began a liquid diet which helped him lose a stone in just four weeks.
To do this, Jonathan swapped his meals for protein shakes.
He said: “I’ve been living off liquid food as I wanted to lose weight.
“Now I just get up and have my chocolate milkshake – it’s easier.”
The host explained he has also given up alcohol and no longer eats meat.
He added: “When I gave up booze, I realised I’d had more than my fair share already. If I never eat another steak, it’s not a big deal. We’re trying to be sustainable.”

At the same time as he quit alcohol, in 2020, Jonathan also started to lead a vegan lifestyle.
When asked if he missed dairy products, he told The Mirror: “You do miss stuff.
“I’ve eaten eggs once or twice but accidentally. It hasn’t changed me at all – I’m not a poster boy for a vegan diet.”
Jonathan has struggled with his weight more than once over the years, deciding to follow the keto diet in 2015.
At the time, the presenter spoke on Alan Carr’s Chatty Man, revealing he had lost almost two stone.
He said: “My wife wanted to go on an eating plan so you can actually maintain it, but also really enjoy food.”
The comedian also looked at Reddit threads for tips. He continued: “A lot of them were talking about a diet called Keto.
“It’s a bit like Atkins but more scientific.
“It’s mostly meat and fish, lots of egg and cheese. You have a lot of cauliflower.
“There is a lot of work involved so I watch them working quite hard in the kitchen and eat everything they’ve made.
“You can have a Nando’s but you can’t have any chips.”
Jonathan added that although he ate “loads of food”, he lost “like a stone and a half”.
