Exercising regularly can benefit the body in a number of different ways and can reduce the risk of several diseases. The NHS recommends 150 minutes of movement each week which can help with weight loss.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, celebrity trainer Faisal Abdalla, has shared his top exercise tips.
The personal trainer, who has trained the likes of Ellie Goulding and Ella Eyre, has worked in the fitness industry for over seven years.
He explained: “If weight loss is your goal, creating a calorie deficit is required.
“In its simplest terms, a calorie deficit occurs if the number of calories consumed in a day is smaller than the number of calories you burn.”
The amount of calories you should consume depends on a variety of different factors including gender, height and weight.
The NHS recommends losing around one to two pounds of weight per week in order to be sustainable which is usually around a 500 deficit per day for many.
Faisal went on: “Therefore, workouts like interval running, HIIT, high volume strength training or intense circuit training are great options.
“Ultimately, you need to choose the exercises that you enjoy the most because for weight loss to happen, you’ve got to stick with it and keep wanting to go back for more.”

HIIT (also known as high intensity interval training) is extremely popular as it can help to burn a lot of calories.
It can be done from home as well as in the gym and involves short bursts of intense exercise alternated with recovery periods.
