- 2 pie crust
- 1 1/2 cup apple pie filling
- 1 egg
- to taste sparkling sugar
- 1 cup caramel sauce
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Chop the apple pie filling using a knife or a food processor if you have one.
Unroll the pie crust and spread the apple pie filling onto one of them, leaving a 1/8″ border around the edge. Then cover with the other crust and press the sides together to secure.
Make an egg wash by mixing the egg with a splash of water.
Brush some egg wash on top of the crust and sprinkle the sparkling sugar over the crust to mimic the look of salty fries. Cut strips about 1/2″ thick and cut those into fry shapes.
Place them carefully on a baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees F for about 12 minutes or until they’re golden and firm.
Serve with caramel sauce as a sweet ‘ketchup’ for dipping!
