Cilantro Naan Bread

Totally missed buying bread on both grocery runs and then didn’t miss it at all the way these are coming out. Reminds me why I quit buying it in the first place!

The turmeric is optional but it does 2 things: 1) It adds a nice color and 2) It’s anti-inflammatory which I have no issues with!

Don’t cut until cooled!

Ingredients

  1. 3 cups flour
  2. 1 beer, 12 oz., warmed to no more than 120 *F
  3. 1/2 tbsp instant yeast
  4. 2 tbsp sugar. Honey, molasses, etc
  5. 1 bunch chopped cilantro
  6. 1 tsp turmeric
  7. to taste Salt

Steps

  1. Flour, turmeric, yeast, and cilantro

  2. The warmed beer. Add the sugar. I used dark corn syrup. Mix.

  3. Blend, slowly adding your beer mixture, until it pulls from the sides.

  4. Cover and put aside to rise until doubled in size.

  5. Punch it down, divide, and roll it out.

  6. Let it rest for 40 minutes.

  7. Turn your oven as high as it can go. I’ve got a convection oven that goes to 450. The breads are ready; they’ve about doubled again!
