This sauce is unbelievably easy but after you try it you’ll never buy the canned stuff again!
- 2 Tbsp olive oil or butter
- 2 Tbsp all purpose flour
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 3 Tbsp chilli powder
- 1 Tbsp cumin
- 1/2 Tbsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- to taste salt & pepper
Heat oil or butter in a large sauce pan over medium high heat
Add flour & whisk about 2 minutes until tan in color
Whisk in chicken broth until smooth & add in all seasonings
Once sauce starts to bubble reduce heat & let simmer 10-15 minutes until thickened
Pour over enchiladas & bake!
