Home made enchilada sauce

This sauce is unbelievably easy but after you try it you’ll never buy the canned stuff again!

Ingredients

  1. 2 Tbsp olive oil or butter
  2. 2 Tbsp all purpose flour
  3. 2 cups chicken broth
  4. 3 Tbsp chilli powder
  5. 1 Tbsp cumin
  6. 1/2 Tbsp garlic powder
  7. 1/2 tsp oregano
  8. to taste salt & pepper

Steps

  1. Heat oil or butter in a large sauce pan over medium high heat

  2. Add flour & whisk about 2 minutes until tan in color

  3. Whisk in chicken broth until smooth & add in all seasonings

  4. Once sauce starts to bubble reduce heat & let simmer 10-15 minutes until thickened

  5. Pour over enchiladas & bake!
