Ingredients
- 1/2 lg Onion, Minced
- 4 cloves Garlic, Minced
- 1 cup Bourbon
- 2 cups Ketchup
- 1/3 cup Vinegar
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/2 cup Packed Brown Sugar
- 3/4 cup Molasses
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 cup Tomato Paste
- 2-3 tbsp Liquid Smoke
- 1/3 tsp Hot Sauce
Steps
Over med-high heat combine onion, garlic & bourbon in 3 qt saucepan and saute for 10 minutes or until onions are translucent.
Remove from heat and light mixture on fire to burn off alcohol. Flame should last approximately 20-30 seconds.
Add all remaining ingredients to saucepan and return to heat.
Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to medium. Stir constantly for 20 minutes and then remove from heat.
Strain sauce through medium to fine strainer to remove onion, garlic & any other solids in the sauce.
Allow sauce to cool to room temperature then use or bottle and refrigerate.
