ILish Bharta ♥

Tenualosa ilisha,ilish, ilisha, hilsa, hilsa herring,”ইলিশ” in Bengali or hilsa shad is very popular in the Indian Subcontinent. It is The national fish of our country “Bangladesh”.The fish contributes about 12% of the total fish production and about 1.15% of GDPin Bangladesh.

Ilish fish is popular among all Bengalis during monsoon which is known as the month of ilish.
In West Bengal and Bangladesh, ilish is often termed as the ‘queen’ of fishes.

It can be deep fried and garnished with local spices, can be cooked with onions and potatoes into a traditional fish meal or barbequed.

Here, I have cooked bharta (fusion of Ilish recipes) to specify the more taste of it.You can try it in home and enjoy.Take Love from Bangladesh.??♥

Ingredients

  1. 5-6 pieces Ilish fish
  2. 1 small potato
  3. 1/2 cup chopped onion
  4. 4 pieces chopped green chillies
  5. 2 tablespoon coriender leafs
  6. 1/2 teaspoon termeric powder
  7. 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  8. 1/4 teaspoon cumin powder
  9. 1/4 the teaspoon ginger and garlic mixed paste
  10. 1/2 teaspoon coriender powder
  11. Mustard oil as required
  12. Salt as required

Steps

  1. Cut the potatoes in smal slices and wash them with clean water.Cut the Ilish fish into small pieces and wash them properly with cleaned water.

  2. Now in a bowl, put those potatoes and fish pieces. Put salt,red chili powder,ginger-garlic paste, termeric powder, coriender powder,cumin powder into it and mix them well useing hand.

  3. Now, Take a frypan,put some oil into it and heat it on stove.Fry all of those spiced potato slices and pissed Ilish fishes in a medium flame.After frying, separate the fish bone from the pieces of Ilish and mash properly with the fried potato slices.

  4. In another pot, put chopped onions and chopped green chillies with salt and rub them with hand.Mix some chopped coriender leafs.Now mix those mashed fish and potatoe solution into it and mix all very carefully.

  5. Bharta is ready.Serve it with steamed rice and Enjoy.
