  1. 1 teaspoon active, dry yeast
  2. 1 teaspoon sugar
  3. 1 1/4 cups warm water
  4. 2 cups flour (with an additional 2 tablespoons)
  5. 1 teaspoon salt
  6. Vegetable oil
  7. Syrup
  8. 3 cups sugar
  9. 1 1/3 cups water
  10. 2 tablespoons lemon juice

  1. Add your yeast, sugar, and warm water into a bowl or measuring cup

  2. Stir until dissolved and set out for 5 to 10 minutes

  3. Combine your flour and salt into a medium-sized bowl

  4. Mix your yeast mixture with an oiled spoon until it becomes a dough

  5. Cover your dough’s container and move it to a warm area. Sit out for 1 1/2 hours or until doubled

  6. Get the ingredients for the syrup and mix the ingredients in a separate saucepan over medium heat until sugar is dissolved

  7. Bring your syrup to a boil, turn the heat to low for 10 to 15 minutes without stirring frequently

  10. Pour syrup over dough

  11. Enjoy!
