Mississippi Salsa

My son and I worked on this for 2 years until we perfected it. He is 16 years old but claims the name is Branson’s Salsa.

Ingredients

  1. 28 oz crushed tomatoes
  2. 2 cans (10 oz) rotel
  3. 2 jalapeños
  4. 1/2 red onion
  5. 2 teaspoons sugar
  6. 2 teaspoons cumin
  7. 1 tablespoon ground cilantro
  8. 2 teaspoons crushed garlic
  9. 3 tablespoons aged balsamic vinegar
  10. Salt to tast
  11. 1 tablespoon olive oil

Steps

  1. Sauté chopped onion, jalapeños, and garlic in the olive oil.

  2. Add tomatoes and rotel after 5 minutes. Add all other ingredients. Cook for about 15 minutes.

  3. Let cool and place in a blender filling blender only a third at a time. Put in a storage container and enjoy.
