Strawberry Shortcake

I love the lemony tang to this version

Ingredients

  1. Pound cake (homemade or store bought)
  2. 2 lbs strawberries
  3. 1 large lemon zest and juice
  4. Sugar to taste (depends on how sweet your strawberries are)
  5. Whipped cream

Steps

  1. Wash, destem and quarter strawberries

  2. Zest the lemon

  3. Juice the lemon

  4. Put quartered straberries in a bowl add sugar, zest and lemon juice. Put in refrigerator for a couple hours.

  5. Slice poundcake (I like to toast mine in the toaster oven), top with strawberries and whipped cream.
