Torta de Brigadeiro / Brazilian Chocolate Pie


  1. Pie Crust
  2. 1 cup flour
  3. 1 egg yolk
  4. 100 g margarine
  5. 2 tbsp sugar
  6. 1 tbsp baking powder
  7. Brigadeiro / Chocolate Filling
  8. 1 can condensed milk
  9. 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  10. 1 tbsp butter
  11. 300 ml milk
  12. 3 tbsp cornstarch


  1. Mix all ingredients to make the crust and place it in the pie dish

  2. Make holes in the bottom of the dough with a fork and bake it at 400F for 15-20 min

  3. Make the filling by combining the condensed milk, cocoa powder, milk, and butter in a saucepan

  4. Bring to a boil, then add the cornstarch (dissolved in milk)

  5. Mix it constantly until thick

  6. Add the filling into the pie crust (sift it if there are lumps), then add any toppings you’d like (I have added coconut wafers)

  7. Refrigerate for a few hours and enjoy!
