With the weekend coming up, it\u2019s the perfect time to indulge in tasty treats, and there are few things more delicious than a chocolatey pudding.<\/p>\n

As Christmas fast approaches, supermarkets all over the country will be brimming with chocolatey desserts, but making them at home is far more fun – and can even taste better.<\/p>\n

Why not try your hand at Mary Berry\u2019s chocolate truffle dessert from her Cook and Share recipe book this Saturday or Sunday?<\/p>\n

When describing this sweet treat, Mary uses the words \u201cdecadent, indulgent, impressive, delicious\u201d and claims that it is \u201ca real celebration of chocolate\u201d.<\/p>\n

While the baking expert argues that this recipe \u201ctakes a bit of time\u201d than some of her other ones, it is \u201cso worth making\u201d for a special occasion.<\/p>\n

Ingredients\u00a0<\/h3>\n

For chocolate cake<\/strong><\/p>\n

Butter, for greasing<\/p>\n

250g Bournville plain chocolate, broken into pieces<\/p>\n

Six eggs, five of them separated<\/p>\n

225g caster sugar<\/p>\n

150g ground almonds<\/p>\n

For truffle filling <\/strong><\/p>\n

180g Bournville plain chocolate, broken into pieces<\/p>\n

75g caster sugar<\/p>\n

One tablespoon brandy<\/p>\n

Three egg yolks, beaten<\/p>\n

300ml pouring double cream<\/p>\n

For decoration <\/strong><\/p>\n

Cocoa powder, for dusting<\/p>\n

200ml pouring double cream<\/p>\n

Four chocolate truffles, halved<\/p>\n

Method<\/h3>\n

1.<\/strong> Preheat the oven to 200\u00b0C\/180\u00b0C Fan\/Gas six. Grease and line two 20cm loose-bottomed sandwich or springform tins.<\/p>\n
