Jamie Oliver’s classic guacamole is a must know recipe – ‘deliciously creamy’

A tasty guacamole recipe is a great thing to have up your sleeves. It’s perfect for chips and dips night with friends, or alongside some of your favourite meals.

Whack it on some toast or scrambled eggs for breakfast, or serve it alongside sliced veggies for lunch. If you fancy some guacamole in the evening, spread it on your burger bun or add it to some tacos at dinner.

Jamie Oliver’s classic guacamole is “deliciously creamy with a hint of chilli”. The superstar chef said: “Super-quick and easy, this tasty guacamole recipe takes just 10 minutes to knock together.”

Jamie’s recipe serves eight people but you can amend quantities depending on party size. It’s dairy-free, gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian, so is pretty much suitable for everyone.

It’s “super easy” to make, so if you have young kids or grandkids, this is one recipe you can get them involved in making.

Ingredients

  • Half a small red onion
  • One or two fresh red chillies
  • Three ripe avocados
  • One bunch of fresh coriander
  • Six ripe cherry tomatoes
  • Two limes
  • Extra virgin olive oil

Method

  1. Peel the onion and deseed one chilli. Roughly chop both on a large board.
  2. Remove the stone from the avocados and scoop the flesh out onto the board.
  3. Chop the avocado and start chopping all the ingredients together until they are fine and well combined.
  4. Pick out most of the coriander leaves, chop them (don’t worry about it being neat) and add the tomatoes. Continue chopping it all together.
  5. Add the juice from one lime and one tablespoon of oil. Season to taste with sea salt, black pepper and more lime juice if you think it’s needed.
  6. Deseed and finely chop the rest of the chilli (if you like that extra kick) and scatter it over the guacamole. Pick out the resert of the coriander leaves and scatter them over. Serve this versatile dip with whatever you fancy.
