Marks and Spencer is the latest to recall a food product because an ingredient has not been included on the label.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) stated: “Marks and Spencer is recalling Plant Kitchen No Chicken and Chorizo Sandwich because it contains egg which is not mentioned on the label.
“This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg.”
Marks and Spencer’s Plant Kitchen is suitable for vegans. The Marks and Spencer website reads: “Whether you’re going vegan, taking part in Meat Free Monday, avoiding meat and dairy or simply enjoy incorporating more plant-based foods into your diet, our Plant Kitchen range means you’ll never have to compromise on taste.
“Expertly developed by our chefs, every product is rigorously benchmarked so it tastes just as good or even better than its meat or dairy counterpart.”
